The Authors and Models

Lily Chou has been practicing martial arts for 15 years and is a 3rd degree black belt in yongmudo.  In addition to dabbling in taekwondo and no-gi Jiujitsu, she is an editor of health and fitness books, is a certified yoga instructor, and the author of The Martial Artist's Book of Yoga

Norman Link has been practicing martial arts for over forty years and is a 7th degree black belt in yongmudo (formally known as hapkido).  He currently serves on the US Yongmudo Association Board and is the head yongmudo instructor at the University of California Martial Arts Program (www.ucmap.org) in Berkeley, California.  He also practices jujitsu and iaido.  In addition to his martial arts training, he has performed extensive study in numerous areas of bioengineering and medical research, ranging to eye muscle stimuli responses to robotic diagnosis of cancer, to flash x-ray imaging of bulletproof vests at the moment of impact.  He holds a PhD in biomedical/electrical engineering and currently works as a scientist in the Bay Area.




Dr. Jon Bertsch has been practicing martial arts for over 30 years and is a 4th degree black belt in Judo.  He is also a black belt in Hapkido and is a programmer in the Bay Area

David Commins has been practicing martial arts for over 35 years and is a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo.  In addition, he practices Yongmudo, Judo and Iaido, and is a lawyer in San Francisco.

Luke Commins has been practicing martial arts for over 10 years and is a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.  He is a member of the UC Berkeley Taekwondo Demo Team.

Kelly Kim has been practicing martial arts for over 15 years and is a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.  She is a member of the 2009-2011 U.S. Wushu Team and is currently studying kinesiology and spot biomechanics in the Bay Area.

Dr. Susan Link has been practicing martial arts for over 30 years and is a 4th degree black belt in Yongmudo and Hapkido.  She has also practiced and competed nationally in Taekwondo and is an optometrist in the Bay Area.

Bob Matsueda
has been practicing martial arts for over 40 years and is a renshi 6th degree black belt in Kendo.  He is the head instructor for the Berkeley Kendo Dojo (NCKF, AUSKF, FIK member) and is an alumni/member of the ICU/Osawagi Kendo Dojo in TOkyo, Japan.  He also serves as a board member of the Northern California Kendo Federation.
